Sweeney Todd:

The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street

(May 2015)

This version of Sweeney Todd was indeed faithful to the original musical written by Stephen Sondheim. The story of a man who was sent away while the evil judge Turpin corrupted his wife and daughter. When many years later, Sweeney returns from over seas with one thing on his mind. Vengeance.

The show as seen below features many different kinds of lighting states from dark to light, as most of the numbers with in the production have a cheery tune, with a dark meaning behind them. This was a very interesting musical to take part in as the story is full of twists and turns, along with grimy, horrible locations to create out of light. This presented me with some real challenges.

The lighting for this show was almost entirely done through moving lights. This made for a complex programming session however allowed us to produce appropriate and beautiful lighting states.
